What makes you happy? - JM

What makes you happy? Was the question I was posed, and I took some time to think, before the answer flowed.
‘I like the little things’ I said, to the man in front of me, his eyes were perplexed as he responded with ease.
‘Please expand more’ as an eyebrow raised, I looked back at him and held my gaze.
It’s the little things in life, that bring me my joy, like silences and laughter and knowing how to annoy.
Like running at full speed, or craving to eat, like hearing a chord that just sounds so damn sweet.
Like watching her mannerisms, or making her laugh, like learning about love, and hoping it’ll last.
I enjoy meeting new people, and hating some too, asking about them, then moving on through.
I look back up, to the questioning man, as I forgot where I was, where I am where I stand.
He smiles back at me as it all becomes clearer, the man I’m speaking to is me in the mirror.
What makes me happy? Was the question I posed, I like daydreaming and smiling and writing out poems.
